Our Mission
Our mission is to activate the rare VU7 call sign from the Lakshadweep Islands, providing valuable contacts for DXers worldwide, especially in North and South America. We'll focus on the challenging paths to these regions, operating on 160m, 80m, 40m, 12m, and 10m bands in CW mode.
Team Members
The VU7 team is a group of enthusiastic amateur radio operators who participate in DXpeditions and activations, often operating from rare locations like islands. They're known for their teamwork, technical expertise, and passion for the hobby, providing valuable contacts for DXers worldwide.
Sarath is an experienced DXpeditioner and amateur radio enthusiast from India. As the team lead for VU7R DXpedition, he brings extensive knowledge and expertise in planning and executing DXpeditions. Sarath is passionate about operating on low bands and has been actively participating in various DXpeditions worldwide. His dedication and leadership skills make him an ideal team lead for this ambitious project.
Adersh K, VU24DX (formerly VU3WEW), is an enthusiastic amateur radio operator and DXpeditioner. With his new callsign VU24DX, he continues to contribute to the amateur radio community, participating in DXpeditions and operating on various bands. Adersh is part of the VU7 DXpedition team, bringing his expertise and passion to the Lakshadweep Islands operation.
Renju, VU29AR, is an amateur radio operator who participated in notable IOTA activations, including Nachugunta (AT2RS), Sacrifice Rock (AU2V), and Arnala (AU2M). He operates primarily on SSB and is known for his 100% solar-powered station.
Girish, VU3GDS, is an experienced amateur radio operator licensed since 1994. He's a home-brewing enthusiast and has operated under the US callsign W3GDS. Girish enjoys DXing, Field Days, IOTA activations, and SOTA. He's recently upgraded to a Spiderbeam antenna and is active on 20-17-15-12-10m bands, exploring contesting with his team, "The Manic Monkeys."
Anil, VU3DXA, is a distinguished amateur radio operator with expertise in electronics and troubleshooting. He's a key member of IOTA activation teams, contributing significantly to their success. Anil's experience spans vintage radios to modern SDR technology. He's participated in notable IOTA activations, including AU2RS, AU2K, AU2V, and AU2M. Anil's passion for learning and adventure drives his involvement in the amateur radio community.
