Equipment details
The VU7 team plans to set up and operate a comprehensive amateur radio station with multiple capabilities. Here's a breakdown of their plan:
Multi-Band Operations:
- The team will operate on a wide range of frequencies, from 6 meters to 160 meters.
- This will enable them to contact stations worldwide, leveraging various propagation modes.
Multi-Mode Operations:
- Three stations will be dedicated to CW (Morse code) and SSB (voice) modes, catering to different operating preferences.
- A fourth station will be dedicated to FT8, a popular digital mode for weak signal communication.
Specialized Station:
- The team plans to set up a fifth station, focusing on 6-meter operations and QO-100 satellite communication.
Around-the-Clock Operations:
- The team aims to operate continuously, 24/7, to maximize the number of unique station contacts.
Primary Objective:
The main goal is to contact as many unique stations as possible from around the world, providing a rare opportunity for DXers to make new contacts.
We will study the propagation forecast for all regions and will make changes based on daily observations, concentrating on those bands which will offer the best propagation conditions.
